Looking at the *amazing* artwork on this very special organic cotton tee makes us want to swim in exotic waters. Love *love* this piece, and we only have one!

The special qualities described: This is a unique photograph with handmade embellishments. Variations in color are the result of the cyanotype process. The cyanotype process was invented in the mid-19th century and has been a popular method of creating one-of-a-kind images. The fabric is treated with non-toxic photosensitive chemicals. 3D objects are placed to create the composition. The fabric is then exposed to
sunlight. The outdoor temperature and intensity of sunlight affect the final outcome. The chemicals are rinsed out, and areas of highlighting and shadows remain.

We recommend hand washing with gentle soap. No bleach, phosphates or washing soda. Hang dry out of direct sunlight.

If ironing is desired cover transfer images with parchment paper. Remove paper when fabric has cooled. Cyanotype will return to its original color.

Size Note: Though the tag says 'M' this is definitely a Small, thus listed as such.

Designer Bio

FERAL CHILDE is a sustainable and eco-chic womenswear line by bi‐coastal design duo Moriah Carlson (Brooklyn, NY) and Alice Wu (Oakland, CA), who both come from a fine arts background. Each season, Feral Childe's collaborative drawings form the basis of the collection's textile prints, wry construction details, and absurdist accessories. Feral Childe combines thoughtful choice of materials and attention to quality construction to make smart, wearable silhouettes for forward-thinking women. Feral
Childe is proudly manufactured in New York City.

Feral Childe's Tarquinia inspiration comes from the ancient Roman city known for its Etruscan frescoes and mosaics. Dreaming of this seaside civilization, Feral Childe created watercolor collages for new digital silk prints depicting divers, revelers, and artisans. The silks, textured organic cotton knits, Hempcel linen and other fabrics are lasercut, looped and pleated into a wearable catalog of amphora, fish, birds and plant life in earthy and vibrant colors. Made in NYC's Historic Garment Center.
